Duane has spent over two decades in senior management positions in the electric power industry across regulated and deregulated markets, including roles at TXU Energy and Kansas City Power & Light. He founded River Oaks Energy in 2004, representing large organizations accounting for 1.5 TWhs of electricity in twelve states. He is a partner and board member at Nexus Renewable Power, an independent power producer and consultancy firm that builds, generates, and delivers safe, reliable, solar renewable energy. Duane was employed at Xerox Corporation in various management positions for ten years. He was also appointed by Governor Abbot of Texas to the Commission on Jail Standards, which regulates the state's 252 county jails. He is Chair of the Board for Volunteers of America/TX—and a board member of VOA, Inc. National Office. In the past, Duane has served as Board President for The University of Southern Mississippi $190 Million Dollar Foundation/Endowment, and he was also formerly a Board Member/Trustee of Rockhurst University. Duane earned a BSBA degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, and an MBA from Rockhurst University. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
