Dean Hensley is the Assistant Chief with the Waller County Fire Marshal’s Office and Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management in Waller County, Texas. He joined Waller County Fire Marshal’s Office in 2020 after he retired from Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office as the Chief Investigator. Hensley also spent 38 years as a volunteer and part-time firefighter, and fire investigator with Northwest, Little York, and Cy-Fair Fire Departments in Harris County, Texas.

Hensley is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the investigations and Emergency Management divisions. He holds multiple fire certifications with Texas Commission on Fire Protection, International Association of Arson Investigators, National Association of Fire Investigators, and the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association.

Hensley also works with local school districts in Waller County on their operation plans and lockdown drills and provides free Stop the Bleed training for all teachers and staff. In addition, he started a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher program for Waller County that provides free devices for families who do not have or cannot afford a working smoke alarm.
