Dave Smith grew up in Iowa, he graduated from high school in 1989 and joined the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on the USS Roanoke in Long Beach, California. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and was Junior Sailor of the quarter and Junior Sailor of the year. He left the Navy in 1993 and began his career in the HVAC field, working as a forklift driver in the warehouse for Lennox Industries. He spent 10 years with Lennox where he held various positions from forklift operator in Iowa to Territory Manager in North Carolina.

 

In 2002 he moved to Dallas and went to work with Air Performance Service, Inc. as a salesman and has moved from salesman to Sales and Marketing Manager of North Texas to his current role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has seen the company grow from having a single office that served the Dallas area to 3 offices serving the entire state of Texas as well as the surrounding states even stretching as far as the east and west coasts of the United States taking care of vane axial fans. In 2020 Russell and Ron bought Air Performance Service, Inc. and we became APS Building Services, Inc.

Dave is active in BOMA and IREM. He served as a member of the allied council for both the Dallas and Ft. Worth chapters and was named BOMA Allied Member of the Year for the 2019/2020 year. Dave is a member of the Community Service Committee in Dallas and is a member of the Government Affairs committee in Ft. Worth.

 

Dave is married to Catherine Smith, who works in the commercial real estate industry. They were blessed with their first grandchild in October of 2022 and to say he is a proud grandparent would be an understatement. They love to spend time with friends and family and enjoy travel. They are avid scuba divers. Dave liked scuba diving so much that he became an instructor and enjoys doing that in his spare time.
